Joseph A. “Joey” Buttafuoco (born March 11, 1956) is an American auto mechanic who made headlines in 1992 for his affair with then-underage Amy Fisher (born August 21, 1974), who subsequently shot Joey’s wife, Mary Jo Buttafuoco (born May 15, 1955), in the face.

OK, enough with the details.

Bottom line is this guy got rich because his underage mistress shot his wife in the face?  IN THE FACE!

I recently saw this idiot on my TV again recently some 18 years after his 15 minutes should have been up.  Why?

In 2002, he participated in the Fox Network’s Celebrity Boxing, originally slated to oppose John Wayne Bobbitt, who dropped out due to being arrested for domestic abuse.

In 2006, he and Amy Fisher were reunited at the Lingerie Bowl for the coin toss.

Joey Buttafuoco and Mary Jo Buttafuoco have been regular guests of The Howard Stern Show since 1992.

Joey Buttafuoco appeared on the Judge Jeanine Pirro show on March 5, 2009 to dispute a call girl who refuses to pay for car repairs. The call girl, “Peaches”, had — after repairs were completed — requested to pay for the work with sex, instead of the $4,700 owed for the repairs to her Corvette. Joey won his settlement.

Buttafuoco made his film debut as a cab driver in Cul-de-Sac (video title: Better Than Ever), by the Nigerian-born filmmaker Uzo. He subsequently appeared in Finding Forrester, The Underground Comedy Movie, Mafia Movie Madness, Skin Walker, and Operation Repo: The Movie.

Buttafuoco hosts a live talk radio show dedicated to recovery topics.

Now, he’s got a porn movie deal selling his hardcore honeymoon tape.

Why?

How have we managed as a society to support this douchebag for the better part of 18 years?

Because we watch.

Change the channel and stop supporting these types.

Sure, this was a newsworthy story, but entertainment news show (of which there were few at the time)  jumped all over this story like maggots on a rotting carcass.  She became a celebrity overnight and was instantly famous.  Why?  Because she broke the law?  Mutilated her husband? Committed a heinous assault? Yup.  That’s why.

Her punishment?  A few days in a mental ward followed by decades of interviews on shows like “The Insider”

She was rewarded with fame and fortune for viciously attacking her sleeping husband thanks to tabloid TV.

OK, maybe she was in a bad marriage, maybe her husband cheated on her and was generally not nice to her, but hey… that’s what divorce court and the police are for.

Last year, she hit the Oprah show.  It was quite the spectacle.  Lorena recounted the tale as Oprah’s gaggle of cackling hags laughed uncontrollably.

Nice.

Were it not for smut TV and yes, even Oprah, this crazy, law breaking, Latina would be just  another lawbreaker who no-one cared about and struggled to re-adjust to society.  Not a folk hero profiting from her crime.

If you are wondering what is wrong with the world, look no further than douchebags like Heidi and Spencer.

I don’t even know their last names, nor do I care.  They set a poor example for today’s youth yet are a superb example of what the Western Culture is becoming.

And it is not good.

Does anyone think to wonder how they get their money for things like plastic surgery and swanky condos on the beach?  From you, that’s who.

They take from you and give nothing back.  Nothing of value at all.

How do they take from you?  Well, you watch shows like Entertainment Tonight, The Insider and TMZ.  By you watching this stuff, you give money to the producers of these shows.  The producers of these shows need content for their programming so what do they do?  Ensure that douchebags like Heidi and Spencer, That Ed Hardy clothing line making dude, Tiger Woods’ parade of skanks and the like are kept around and motivated to keep up their douchebaggery for your “entertainment”.  They then sell it to you.

Would your money not be better spent battling domestic unemployment?

Would your money not be better spent helping the people of Haiti recover from what could be one of the greatest humanitarian crisis humankind has ever faced?

Would your money not be better spent helping the homeless in our own country?

I could go on.

I am calling on everyone to stop watching these “shows” and visiting their websites as a social experiment.  See if by making these douchebags go away, our world becomes a better place.

Best thing of all, it doesn’t cost you a thing.  Just change your channel.

Watch a movie, Watch a sitcom, anything else.

At least the people you’re supporting are doing SOMETHING to justify their incomes.  They are acting or performing or something.

I emplore you…. Change the channel, change the world.
